Unbroken Prayer: Declaring God's Image | 7 Hills Church

Summer for Students

June + July
Day Five of Unbroken Prayer

For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.

~ Romans 8:29

The Bible says we have been conformed to the image of His Son. Everyone has an “image” of themselves. Everyone sees themselves a certain way. And sometimes, we need to have a little “mirror offering” – we need to trade our image of ourselves into the image God has of us.

If you see yourself as an addict, failure, or a disappointment, I want you to give a mirror offering to the Lord and break that image over your life. In exchange, I want you to declare God’s image over your life. When you look at yourself, you’ve got to look at yourself through the water of His Word, the power of His Spirit, and the blood of Jesus.

You are more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus (see Romans 8:37). You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you (see Philippians 4:13). Not through your own might, not through your own image, but through His image, you can do things that you’ve never dreamed or imagined if you’ll look at yourself through the image that He has of you.

Declare God’s image over your life today. Ask God to help you see yourself how He sees you!

Today's Point of Prayer & Intercession:

Repent of sins, unforgiveness, and bitterness

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. ~ Matthew 6:14-15

He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. ~ Psalm 23:3

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! ~ 2 Corinthians 5:17

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. ~ 2 Corinthians 5:21

We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. ~ 2 Corinthians 10:5

Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. ~ Acts 2:38
